For those who are not sure who Krampus is, It is a holiday demon that is of European folklore. Unlike the American kids who are snug in their beds at night and find coal in their stockings, then sure they know they've been naughty. But what about the European kids? What do they get for Christmas? One Hell of a scare....Literally!
Get ready for some seriously horrifying facts!
1.) Good children get gifts...Naughty Children get Hell...
For the children who have been good all year, they wind up with lovely gifts for their holiday. But for the nasty little kids, then their parents tell them a tale about Krampus, a holiday demon who takes all the naughty kids and tortures them and makes them a snack....You're kidding...right?
2.) It's not an elf who rides with Santa, but indeed Krampus.
Although Santa Claus is a saint, Krampus is his right hand man, despite the fact that he is a demon. Simple as that!
3.) Krampus is known to literally torture children...
Krampus is widely known to beat children to death with rods made from birch, but the madness doesn't stop there. He is also known to drown them in black ink and then afterwards drag them out with a pitchfork, force young ones to beg for mercy, throw them onto a train (heading to the lake of fire) with no stops, Nasty ear pulling, force older children (such as preteens) in shackles, Leading kids off a cliff, and even pulling a girl's pigtails out! How disgusting is that? I'm sure there is much more to the torture list!
4.) Krampus is a much more older story than Jesus' life!
German: “Krampen,” or “Claw,” or “Giddy Child Murderer”....Pagan tradition, and was and still is known to "Whip children cross Europe"!
5.) There is probably more Krampus based merchandise than there are frightened children...
You can buy shirts, wares, cards, and much more things based on Krampus.
6.) In the 1960's, Krampus was much considered a sex demon.
For whatever reason, Krampus is widely known to be a sex demon, but it's not a surprise, as in the past he was known to spank and whip young virgin women with the birch rods.
Hope you enjoyed these creepy facts about the holiday demon! Below are personal favorite pictures... Take a look!
Have a happy (and safe) Yule!
