Have you ever wondered in the past, or maybe even now, what a vampire truly looks like? They aren't what a cheap dollar movie portrays them to be, or what science views them on their own accord. Yes, in many ways, although a vampire isn't a human at all, they do look like one, and there are maybe some slight similarities and differences. However though, for vampire standards, they hold unnatural charm and breath taking beauty. Perhaps that is how a vampire could become so wealthy over time. These wonderful creatures are the stuff of legend and folklore, but over time, many of the stories that were written, spoken, and heard were so greatly misunderstood. Now...Let's give a close look, shall we?
Youth
Vampires do look young for their age, and perhaps in many cases, no one can really truly guess their age. In fact, it is true that vampires possess eternal youth. They weren't lying when they said that they can live forever.
Skin
Yes, vampires do in fact have unusually pale skin, but they aren't the china doll pictured in art, books, and television. The only time that they are an unnatural pale white color is when they are lacking blood. At that time a vampire will bleed very little, if not bleed at all. Also, vampires are extremely sensitive to light and the heat that expels from it, but it doesn't mean that they will become a pile of ashes onto the floor. That is highly stretched. What this does mean though, is that these creatures are prone to bad sun burns, migraines, and even intense eye pain.
Eyes
Ah yes...The eyes. The eyes are something that almost everyone notices first. But a vampire's eyes are different than a human's in a lot of ways. First of all, sometimes a vampire may have a dark colored ring around the iris of their eye, while another noticeable color surrounds the pupil. But that is not the only way a vampire's eyes can be. Besides the previous way, they can also possess unnaturally colored eyes. Example: Unnaturally bright blue or intensely bright colored green. But there is also a third way. Vampires can also carry an eye color that is either rare or non existent in the human world, such as perhaps a red color or even a deep, deep ocean blue...Or maybe even purple eyes that Elizabeth Taylor was famously known for. But besides differences in eye color and appearances, vampires have great nighttime vision. Humans cannot usually see in the darkness. However if a person can, it's not that great either way. With a vampire, they can see perfectly well. They can perhaps read, write, or even draw in the dark while a human will complain that they can't see a thing. Not even a dim candlelight would work for them, and they would still have difficulties doing simple things. A vampire can do it with a breeze.
Mouth
This is perhaps a weird thing to discuss to some people. A vampire's mouth? Why would I want to know about that? A few things actually. See, in movies, books, and even some artwork, vampires are pictured as creatures with saber-tooth fangs. That is exaggerated. These creatures actually don't carry with them incredibly long fangs, but they do possess sharp canines that can and will definitely break the skin of an animal or human. Sometimes to maybe some vampires, there is some noticeable length to the teeth in question, but they are never extremely long to the point it looks like they can chew a human's head off. But because we are talking about a vampire's teeth, can they in fact have an occasional deformity? Yes. But when a vampire has this deformity, it involves the incisors. See, when a vampire becomes what they are, or a child born to vampirism get their teeth, the canines will ALWAYS be effected, and because of this, they will always sharpen, and for some, maybe get just a hair or two longer. But if it's a deformity, the incisors will sharpen too as if they were the canines.
Nails
This may yet again be an unusual thing to talk about, but perhaps it is necessary. Unlike human nails, being white in color, a vampire's nails are clear with some white color to it, or just clear to the point of the resemblance of glass. Yet, although they look like this, they are very strong, and either way, they can potentially cut you!
Sicknesses
Yes, yet again, media tries to portray something that either isn't true, or stretched. Unlike how media depicts vampires, they can too get sick just like a person. But unlike a person, a vampire heals quickly. For example, if a person gets sick, then it can take up to two weeks for a person to heal. For a vampire, however, it can take them 2 days up to a week (depending on the vampire) to heal. After that, that vampire would be back on their feet again enjoying life. But if it were cuts, bruises, and the works, it won't take a vampire 5 seconds to heal. That's media talking yet again. Instead, it could take them up to three days, depending on the vampire and their bodily wound.
Anything else?
Perhaps there are a few more things to share...
Breathing:
A vampire's breathing is extremely shallow. Unlike how they are portrayed by society, they aren't dead, so they can, will, and must breathe. However though, the only time that it isn't so shallow is when they are very upset or extremely excited.
Sensitivity to garlic:
In movies, some t.v shows, and maybe some prose, a vampire is depicted as being hyper-sensitive to garlic, meaning that they will have intense burns and/or death. That is highly exaggerated in many cases. See, vampires by reality are sensitive to garlic, but the reason why is because the five senses are highly superior; more that a human could ever have. Vampires hate the smell of garlic, and when they consume it, they do act as if they had an allergic reaction, such as that their mouths may start to burn, and maybe that they will suffer blisters, but other than that, they can't and won't face death due to garlic.
Ears:
Yes, just like they show it, vampire's ears are pointed. But they aren't so pointed that they are like elf or goblin ears. Just a gentle point at the ears.
Conclusion
There are some people out there that may argue on the traits mentioned here. What if I possess some of these? Well, who knows. You could be of vampire decent, be part vampire, or, you could throw this all away as a coincidence. However, never think that a person can never be half or part vampire. If angels could mate with people and create angel-human hybrids, or demons can as well, vampires also can. But either way, if you're a descendant, half/part, or even whole vampire, vampires are amongst us, whether or not you wish to believe they're with us.
